The BMW 3 Series was first released to the public in May of 1975 by BMW. It has been in production since then and has become one of the most popular BMW Series in the company’s storied history. The popularity of this Series is evident in the fact that it is the company’s best selling automobile. It accounted for almost 40% sales as for 2005.
The BMW 3 Series is manufactured in Leipzig, Germany; Munich, Germany; Regensburg, Germany; Rosslyn, South Africa; Cairo, Egypt; Kaliningrad, Russia and Shenyang, China. The 3 Series is also known for its racing with the M3.
The BMW 3 Series is divided into these categories:
- BMW E21 (1975-1983) 3 Series

- BMW E36 (1992-1998) 3 Series
- BMW E46 (1999-2006) 3 Series

The BMW 3 Series is the most common of the BMW vehicles on the road today, whether they are the original models or some of the newer models, the BMW 3 Series offers drivers some of the best features in Coupes, Convertibles, Sedans and Sports Wagons.
The models available are the 328i Coupe, the 328i xDrive Coupe, the 335i Coupe, the 335i xDrive Coupe, the 328i Convertible, the 335i Convertible, the 328i Sedan, the 328i xDrive Sedan, the 335i Sedan, the 335i xDrive Sedan, the 335d Sedan, the 328i Sports Wagon and the 328i xDrive Sports Wagon.
The 335d Sedan is the newest member of the BMW 3 Series and it starts at $43,900. This model runs on diesel and gets roughly 36 miles per gallon on the highway.

BMW, one of the world’s most popular and successful luxury vehicle manufacturers, has announced that it plans to launch a hybrid vehicle in their Japan market by the year 2010. The announcement was made by BMW Japan Corporation in late February and said that their parent company in Germany will launch a gasoline-electric hybrid car in Japan in the middle of the year 2010.
The hybrid is modeled after the 750i luxury sedan that is on the market from BMW and is going to compete with the Lexus hybrids manufactured by the Toyota Motor Corporation and a luxury hybrid that Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz will sell in the Japan market later in the year 2009.
The hybrid that BMW is manufacturing will feature a 4.4 liter engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. BMW hopes that this engine will greatly improve fuel economy, hopefully by 15 percent, which would be an improvement upon the 750i that was launced in Japan on March 24.
A hybrid vehicle is a vehicle that runs on anything other than natural gas. Hybrid cars can run on solar power, electric power, and lithium-ion power.
This would not be the first hybrid car manufactured and sold by the BMW Company. One of their most popular hybrid cars was released in 2004 and it was the X5 Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV). This too was a gasoline-electric vehicle with a combustion engine that is power assisted with an electric motor. This vehicle received improve gas mileage by 15-20 percent.
BMW is also working on releasing a hyrbid 7 Series by the year 2010.

The BMW X6 is one of the sleekest and most recognizable vehicles manufactured by BMW in their storied history. The BMW X6 is the first ever Sports Activity Coupe offered by BMW. There are two different models available for purchase and they are the X6 xDrive35i and the X6 xDrive50i. The first model offers 20 miles per gallon on the highway with 300 horsepower while the second model offers 18 miles per gallon on the highway with 400 horsepower.
The BMW X6 xDrive35i
This model of the X6 offers plenty of different options for potential buyers to choose from or you could build your own model if you would rather do that. The features of this model include:

That’s it…the only difference between the two models is the engine power.
The BMW X6 xDrive35i is available for $55,900 MSRP and the BMW X6 xDrive50i is available for $66,650 MSRP.
Both models are available with four doors, a large storage space in the rear of the vehicle, a rounded off front, a rounded off roof, a rounded off rear and a longer front end than most other vehicles of its kind.

BMW is in the process of developing a new navigational system for their vehicles and the owners of their vehicles. The system is called the Intelligent Learning Navigation System and is called ILENA for short. If BMW can successfully develop this navigational system they would forever change the face of driving and the navigation market as we know it.
Why? The answer is simple…this navigation system would be the smartest and most effective navigation system on the market today. The system is still in its development stages but as BMW continues to work on it the system will become close to 90 percent effective.
This system, once it gets to know the driver of the car, will adjust the mirrors and the seats for each individual driver and plan your route accordingly. The route it plans for the driver will help to cut down on miles driven and improve fuel economy. That’s right…the system will learn everything about the driver, including their driving habits and where they like to travel the most.
The system, in its infancy, operates via Bluetooth or a docked cell phone. Aside from Bluetooth or a docked cell phone, drivers will also have the choice of an onscreen mode that is docked into the dashboard of the vehicle.
Even though the system is still in its development stages BMW claims that it is 80 percent accurate in identifying the driver of the vehicle but once the driver uses the system for a little over one year its accuracy should jump to 90 percent effective.

BMW is one of the most popular makes of vehicles on the market today because of its sleek design, safe operation, and smooth riding features. One of the newest models that will be on the market in May is the 2009 Z4 Roadster. What an incredibly beautiful car. This is one of the sleekest vehicles that BMW has manufactured to date.
This version of the Roadster features two doors, a longer front end, a rounded off design in the front and the back, and extremely sleek looking headlights. The BMW logo is featured on the hood of the car and on either side of the car right before where the hinge of the doors are located.
The Roadster is one of the sleekest convertibles ever manufactured by BMW in its storied history. With the top down on the Roadster you have unlimited head room with the wind in your hair. The interior features satin silver, brushed aluminum, or ash grain wood trim; black, Canberra beige, or coral red leather; sports seats covered in luxurious Nappa leather and there is a popup navigational screen on the dashboard right above the air vents.
The engine features six cylinders with 300 horsepower. This gives the driver increased fuel economy in any type of driving conditions. The Z4 is also offered in 255 horsepower. The 2009 Z4 also offers more storage space in the trunk this time around but doesnt take away from the spacious room inside the vehicle for the two passengers.
Make sure you test drive the new BMW 2009 Z4 Roadster as soon as it hits the lot in May of this year.

The BMW 1 Series is one of the most popular series offered by BMW today and they offer coupes and convertibles with this series. There are two different models offered under both the coupe and the convertible. The coupe comes in the 128i Coupe and the 135i Coupe while the convertible comes in the 128i Convertible and the 135i Convertible.
BMW 128i Coupe
The BMW 128i Coupe is offered with two doors and a 3.0 liter, inline 6-cylinder engine, with 230 horsepower. The vehicle also offers an HD radio, an iPhone/iPod USB Integrated System, a premium hi-fi system, climate zone ventilation, navigation system with live traffic updates and much more.
BMW 135i Coupe
The BMW 135i Coupe is also offered with two doors and a 3.0 liter, turbocharged 6-cylinder engine, with 300 horsepower. It has many of the same features that the 128i Coupe boasts as well.
BMW 128i Convertible
The BMW 128i Convertible is offered in two doors and comes with Sirius Satellite Radio, an HD Radio, Airbags, Dynamic Stability Control and much more. This vehicle boasts a 3.0 liter, inline 6-cylinder engine, with 230 horsepower.
BMW 135i Convertible
The BMW 135i Convertible comes with almost all of the same features as the 128i but its engine is much different. This model has a 3.0 liter, turbocharged 6-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower.

BMW vehicles and motorcycles are some of the most recognizable and popular motor vehicles in the world today. They are made popular by their sleek design, their smooth riding capabilities, the many features they offer and for how safe the vehicles are on the road. The BMW company has manufactured plenty of safe vehicles and their main goal is to make sure that the drivers of their vehicles are able to walk away from a BMW involved in an accident before they step into one.
The BMW company won the Top Safety Pick awards as determined by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The vehicles that won the awards were the 3 Series Sedan, X5, and the X3. BMW has won numerous awards for safety from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and in 2000 the 2001 BMW X5 was awarded as the safest SUV on the roads and it was also the safest vehicle ever tested by the Institute up to that point in time.
President of BMW North America, LLC., Jim O’Donnell, had this to say about winning the previous safety awards:
“BMW continues to be committed to both our active and passive safety technologies, and we are pleased to receive the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick award for the 2009 BMW 3 Series Sedan, X5, and X3.”
The IIHS rates vehicles during their safety tests as “good,” “acceptable,” “marginal” and “poor” in a variety of tests that include frontal offset, side impact crash, rear crash protection/head restraints. For a vehicle to be named a Top Safety Pick it must earn a “good” rating in all three of the tests named above.

Formula BMW announced a couple of weeks ago that Michael Lewis, of Laguna Beach, has joined their Eurointernational team in the Formula BMW Americas Championship. The race schedule began on March 20 and ended yesterday, the 22nd. The first races took place in Puebla, Mexico. Lewis participated in these races and will take part in the remainder of the scheduled races for Eurointernational.
The rest of the schedule looks like this:
April 24-26 at the Virginia International Raceway
May 15-17 at the Miller Motorsports Park
July 17-18 at the Lime Rock Park
August 14-16 at the Road America
August 28-30 at the Mosport
Lewis is a veteran of the kart series and is joining an incredibly successful driving force with BMW Eurointernational. The Eurointernational team has won six team and driver international championships in the United States and Europe over the previous seven years.
BMW Eurointernational has won 66 times, has posted 140 podiums, and has posted 66 poles to become one of the most elite racing corporations across the world.
Eurointernational team owner Antonio Ferrari had the following to say about Lewis joining the team:
“We have just completed our preseason tests in FBMA Americas and Michael has shown continuing progress in his lap time and consistency. A natural talent combined with a very professional and dedicated approach has put Michael already on top of the times and as the fastest rookie during the recent first collective FBMW Americas test at Palm Beach International Raceway,”
The races held at the Palm Beach International Raceway were held from February 16 through the 17.

What has made BMW so appealing over the years is the luxurious design inside the car and outside as well. The cars, especially within the previous 10 years, have been designed to look a lot sleeker on the outside. The front and rear ends are rounded off and the windows are extremely sleek. In this post we will discuss and show you the various designs of BMW vehicles through the years. BMW has manufactured sports cars, sedans, coupes, convertibles, SUVs, SAVs and motorcycles for all types of vehicle enthusiasts.
Above is the BMW 319/1, manufactured in 1935.
Just looking at the three pictures provided above, one can see that the BMW motor vehicle has improved greatly over the history of the BMW Company. BMW produced motorcycles for the first time in its storied history during the decade of the 1920s and was responsible for manufacturing motorcycles for the World War II effort for Germany. They manufactured motorcycles that were able to sustain the harsh environment of the South African desert.
The motorcycle above is the first motorcycle manufactured by BMW after World War II. It is the 1948 250cc BMW R 24.
The motorcycle above, the BMW K 1100 RS, was manufactured by BMW in 1993. The motorcycle below was manufactured in 2004 and is the BMW R 1150 RT.
So, as you can see, all types of BMW vehicles have evolved and improved in their design throughout the years. This is what helps to make the brand so popular among vehicle enthusiasts today.
