BMW Motorrad is the brand used by BMW to manufacture their motorcycles, which they have been actively doing since the year 1923. The very first motorcycle manufactured by BMW in 1923 was the R32. The plant that manufactures BMW motorcycles is located in Berlin, Germany. Some of the engines used in BMW motorcycles are manufactured in China, Taiwan, and Austria.
BMW sold over 101,000 motorcycles in the year 2008 and the most popular model was the R1200GS. BMW Motorrad is involved in the Superbike World Championship and it will race the BMW S1000RR and the team will be known as the Team Alpha BMW.
